About the role of a Public & Government Affairs Manager (Oncology):

Being a part of a broader Corporate Affairs team, PAGA Manager has excellent knowledge about Polish healthcare system that is being used to:

  • Develop public affairs/government affairs strategy to influence patients’ paths
  • Contribute to multiple Corporate Affairs and communications projects to help AstraZeneca communicate important corporate messages to internal and external partners
  • Contribute to Corporate Governance, helping managers and colleagues resolve more complex Corporate Affairs and communication related issues
  • Contribute to engagements with key internal or external groups, such as sales teams, external charities, industry associations, embassies, government lobbyists and regulators
  • Build and participate in internal and external networks to share information in the legislative, regulatory or public policy arena and disseminate standard methodologies internally
  • Carry out research, either individually or as part of a team, into more complex areas of government legislation, regulation, managed markets or public policy
  • Liaise with respective business unit(s) brand managers and other internal colleagues to: explain how internal or external developments can affect their brands or areas of responsibility and develop communications programs and strategies tied to respective brand strategies

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Excellent knowledge of the Polish healthcare system & understanding of the policy shaping process both on local and the EU level
  • Strong communication skills and open-minded attitude
  • 2 years of experience in Public/Government Affairs in Pharmaceutical sector, preferably with focus on Oncology and/or at least one of the following therapeutic areas: CVRM, respiratory, rare diseases
  • Proven track of record of planning and/or executing Public Affairs projects and (corporate) communication campaigns
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with the following partners:
    • Internal: colleagues within the corporate affairs function, business functions
    • External: third-party service providers, government and regulatory bodies, charities, NGOs 
  • Fluent English 

Desirable

  • Bachelor’s degree in public affairs, communications, law or a related field
  • Understanding role of media relations in Public & Government Affairs, including digital environment
  • Understanding specificity of Public/Government Affairs in digital environment
